I am Emmalyn Mikaelson.
My husband, in a rage, hit me in front of the wrong person. Diego, or Kincaid to most, beat the hell out of him for it. I left with Diego anyway. Even though he could turn on me just like my husband did, I knew I had a better chance of survival with Diego. That was until I realized Kincaid could hurt me so much worse than my husband ever could. Physical pain pales in comparison to troubles of the heart.
I am Diego “Kincaid” Anderson.
She was a waitress at a bar in a bad situation. I brought her to my clubhouse because I knew her husband would kill her if I didn’t. Now she has my protection and that of the Cerberus MC. I never expected her to become something more to me. I was in more trouble than I’ve ever been in before, and that’s saying a lot considering I served eight years in the Marine Corp with Special Forces.
I was graciously gifted this ARC by the Author in exchange for an honest review.
I have to say this is probably one of the best MC books that I have read. I love that the Club is not only badass but that they are there to help and recover those who have been kidnapped. I fell for Diego Kincaid right away when he showed he showed class by not wanting to get involved with a married woman. I fell harder when he kicked Emmalyns husbands @$$ when he saw her abusing her. Once she left with him their relationship progressed pretty fast. I loved that Diego wasn’t one of those guys who played around and let her know rather quickly what he wanted from her. Emmalyn comes from an abusive marriage and because of that she doesn’t trust easily. I loved how the Diego could understand that and not go macho or Alpha on her and took a more gentle approach. Don’t get me wrong, in no means is he a softie… just when it comes to Em.
Marie James has given me a new book boyfriend. Everything you would want in a lead male. He’s super protective without being over bearing and extremely caring and romantic. Not usually what I would picture in a MC President.
I loved the characters, the story line and the chemistry between Diego and Em. I am excited to read more from this author and hopefully a future romance for Kid.
